Comfrey Leaf oil

"I am in love with this oil for every part of my body, my hands and cuticles have never looked better - it sinks in quickly and is light enough for face and heals all dry areas - even heels!"

The Comfrey Leaf Oil can be applied direct or added to recipes for salves, creams, soaps etc. As well as being high in allantoin which encourages cell regeneration comfrey is also very high in silica. This imparts a wonderful effect on the skin. As well as being known as "Knitbone" comfrey has also been know as "a woman's best friend" due to its skin regeneration properties. It is for this reason that it should not be used on open wounds as it can heal over the skin too fast, but is great for rashes such as nappy rash, psoriasis etc. and especially good for scar tissue. Available in 50 and 100ml bottles.

I make both comfrey leaf oil and comfrey root oil, as well as a combination of both. The leaves are harvested when they are young, fresh and very green. The root is harvested in late winter when the levels of allantoin, the most active ingredient, are highest and when its properties are strongest. The leaf oil is less expensive to produce which is reflected in the price, however it is still powerful and great for all skin conditions or as a massage oil. If you are familiar with the properties of essential oils you could add a few drops of a suitable oil according to your particular purpose.

My comfrey is grown in my super fertile soil which is fed with compost and worm castings on a regular basis.

All my oils are made in small batches to ensure maximum freshness and we have developed methods to ensure maximum potency all year round. They also includes a little natural vitamin E and rosemary extract which are both rich in antioxidants and lengthen shelf life. The comfrey leaf and root oil has a lovely earthy scent which is not affected by the rosemary extract.

Always test any new topical product by dabbing a few drops onto the skin, leaving overnight and ensuring that there is no adverse reaction.

EXTRA INFORMATION FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED

A good part of my life is spent growing, harvesting and processing herbs. I love it. I harvest the herbs when they are in their prime, then infuse them into a certified organic Australian base oil, usually either olive or sunflower.

I have been growing herbs for many, many years. I grow large amounts of comfrey. The growing of comfrey improves the soil.....the roots break up clay, the leaves grow vigorously thru spring and summer and start to die back in autumn returning to the soil all the minerals that have been mined by the strong roots. So the soil improves every year and the herbs just get more and more powerful and potent. Beautiful soil....beautiful products....beautiful YOU! !

I often say that the making of oils and balms kind of calls the tune in my life. I have just gone through the harvesting and processing season, soon the making of the oils and balms will ramp up and then I will spend more time sitting at my computer to make sure I spread the word. DO you see the last photo in this post? I call him my Little Comfrey Conductor....Calling the Tune!

I hope you enjoy using my products as much as I enjoy making them!
